East Africa: Kencall Founder Nicholas Nesbitt Named IBM Head for East Africa

Nicholas Nesbitt has been named Country General Manager, IBM East Africa. He succeeds Anthony Mwai, who is taking on a new leadership role in IBM's South African operation. Mr Nesbitt was most recently the founder and CEO of KenCall, one of Kenya's pioneer business process outsourcing (BPO) and contact centre services providers.

He has also held various executive roles in markets across Africa, North America and Europe. He holds an Engineering Sciences degree and Masters in Engineering both from Dartmouth College as well as a Masters in Business Administration obtained from Stanford University. "Kenya's technology sector is at a pivotal moment as the country shifts to become a more intuitive and mature user of smart solutions. With its full suite of customisable products and services, IBM has the unique ability to help drive the transformation of governments and businesses through more innovative use of new technologies. I am excited to be part of IBM's continuing growth story in Africa," said Mr Nesbitt.
