Nairobi — The National Social Security fund and Kenya Revenue Authority have partnered in a bid to improve the services they offer.

Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi said the collaboration is set to enhance service delivery and KRA has been asked to provide services for collection of NSSF contributions from employers.

"Kenya Revenue Authority has the mandate to collect revenue from both the employee and the employer as such they are best qualified also collect the NSSF contributions so that they monitor and ensure that each person complies.

Kambi said the partnership will aid NSSF effectively collect their contributions as KRA has a wider coverage of eligible employees. It will also help in exposing those who evade paying the contributions and ensure that the beneficiaries reap maximum benefits.

Kambi says the collaboration will ensure that NSSF optimises on revenue collection and enhance social security matters that are of benefit to the greater population.

"The government's manifesto promised to create opportunities and support its people so the money that is collected by the two will go into helping especially the youth and the old."

Kambi reassured that the strategic change in revenue collection will not see any individual lose their job rather they will hire more people to deliver the services especially to those in the grassroots.
