Nigeria: Al-Makura Happy With Amazon's FA Cup Progress

Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Al-makura has expressed happiness with the qualification of the state's women football team, the Nasarawa Amazons for the semi finals of this year's Women Federation Cup competition. Speaking through his special assistant on sports development, Silas Agara, he said at least the qualification of one of the teams to the semi finals of the Federation Cup is a testimony of his commitment to sports development in the state.

Urging the team to go all out and win the competition, he said they must not allow the fall of the men's team to Enyimba via a slim 1-0 loss to deter them. "His Excellency is at least happy with the progress of the Amazons and delighted that one of the team's is in the semi finals of the federation cup. Beating Taraba Queens 2-0 through goals from Stella Onyekachi in the 30th minute and Eunice Ezenwa in the 90th minute was a good result and shows their preparedness to go all the way."
