Gambia Football Federation presidential candidate Modou Mousa has conceded defeat after losing the hot-seat to Mustapha Kebbeh. Musa, professionally a banker, trailed by nine votes managing twenty out of possible fifty-one as Mustapha Kebeh ran riot. But in rare show of humility, Modou Moussa has accepted defeat saying the result depicts majority's choice, adding, 'I take it in good faith'. Voicing his desire to see the sport makes significant upsurge, Mousa, swamped by journalists at the corridor of the election venue insists he wouldn't be dissuaded by the results of the congress to play his quota in football development.
"I will carry on with where I left off. I have always been a football passionate guy. Will continue to love football. Who goes into an election without being optimistic? If you are not [then you], don't need to go into election so the stakeholders have decided and I take it in good faith" he told waiting reporters barred from witnessing voting proceedings.
Modou Mousa's defeat has not come without events overshadowing his campaign in the eleventh hour as his camp was rocked by the withdrawal of Willy Abraham, one of his key would-be executive who was later swiftly replaced by Mr.Sadibou Kamaso [ a member of Mousa's camp] whose decision to pull out of the 3rd VP race left Kebba Touray elected unopposed.
