Gbarnga, Bong County - Members of the Bong County Legislative Caucus have indefinitely suspended Senator Jewel Howard-Taylor for acts incompatible, caucus chair Rep. George Mulbah (NPP district 3) announced Thursday.
The decision comes a day after Senator Howard-Taylor slammed the caucus planned decision to stall China Union shipments out of the county.
Howard-Taylor, a former first lady of Liberia, also differed with her colleagues on claims that the company has not done much to impact residents of Fuamah district, site of the company, when she heaped praises on the company for the level of developments being carried for citizens since 2011.
The former first lady has received a lot of flak from caucus members on consensus agreements regarding developments of the county.
It can be recalled, Howard-Taylor in March this year, condemned the purchase of Bong County's earth-moving equipment, terming it as "used" and "not in the best interest of the citizenry".
Howard-Taylor, who won as senior senator in 2005 with over 50,000 votes, has attracted scores of developments to Bong County from her advocacy at the national legislature.
The establishment of the Land Grant Scholarship at Cuttington University that has over the years served as a major source of education for residents of Suakoko district and a bill that gave rise to what is considered as the biggest community college in Liberia are just a few of Howard-Taylor's achievements.
But the flamboyant former first lady is also was known for her abrasive personality.
Most of Howard-Taylor's transgressions, many say, are fairly harmless to citizens of Bong, such as her disagreement to construct the county sports stadiumand her reported unwillingness to endorse work with Superintendent Selena Poson-Mappy.
