Carthage — Secretary-General of the Democratic Alliance Mohamed Hamdi said on Thursday his party calls for the resignation of the current government and the formation of an independent technocratic government that would ensure the transition process and hold the next elections.

At the end of his meeting with Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki in Carthage, Hamdi said that the Democratic Alliance also suggests the creation of an "Authority for Political Support" composed of parties and organisations.

He stressed the need that the deadline for the completion of works of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) be set for next October 23.

He also emphasised the need to commit to completing the draft Constitution, adopting the election law and establishing The Higher Independent Authority for Elections (ISIE).

The Secretary-General of the Democratic Alliance said consultations are underway between opposition parties to unify positions about the dissolution of the NCA.
