One Love FC and BK Central are among eight teams that have booked their places in the final round of qualifiers in the Serekunda East Nawettan playoffs. One Love Monday defeated T-C FC 5-4 on a post-match penalty shootout following a goalless stalemate.
There are still several second round qualifiers yet to be decided but nine teams will emerge from the third and final round of qualifiers to join 23 other teams in order to participate in the 32-team 2013 Serekunda East Nawettan proper.
One Love dominated their opponents from start to finish but failed to get a way past a resolute defence put up by TC FC. Captain Amadou Baldeh had a shot that crashed off the bar in the 35th minute before the TC goalkeeper Tapha Cham denied him with a save from point blank range five minutes later.
BK Central secured their place in the third round of qualifiers with a narrow 1-0 win over Strikers FC. Essa Mballow's strike after only seven minutes proved the only difference between the two sides. In other matches, Black Society defeated Ambassador Dr. Jackson FC 2-1. Herr Bi beat Lamin Mange FC 1-0; TK Ajax secured a 3-2 post-match penalty shootout defeat of Wales while Wasulung also secured a penalty shootout defeat of Zion Stone. Ebeh Gi beat Flying Tigers 2-1 and New German sent Istanbul packing.
