Gambia: Togolese Leader Assures Commitment to Consolidate Relations

The president of the Republic of Togo, His Excellency, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe has written to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh, acknowledging his letter of felicitations addressed to him on the occasion of his country's 53rd Independence anniversary. In his letter President Gnassingbe assured of his commitment to work to consolidating the relations between two nations.

The remaining text of his message reads:

Mr. President and Dear Brother, On behalf of the Government and people of Togo and indeed on my behalf, I extend heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Your Excellency for your message of felicitations addressed to me on the occasion of our 53rd Independence anniversary.

I am delighted of excellent friendship and fraternal relations that exist between our two countries and people and I would like to assure you of my commitment to work together with you in consolidating it for the benefit of our peoples. Let me also seize this opportunity to acknowledge our efforts towards our sub-region in achieving a large stable and prosperous community. Whilst renewing my best wishes to you for personal well-being and for the realization of your development aspiration, please accept Mr. president and dear brother, the assurance of my highest consideration.
