During their teenage years and their early 20s, every generation thinks it's the first to discover certain things. Sex, drink and rock and roll or other music genres come to mind.

It is only as they grow older and wiser that they realise it is all part of the circle of life, or should that be cycle of life? Speaking for myself and certain members of my general age group back in mid-1980s Nairobi, the Saturday afternoon disco was what we thought we had discovered.
