Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, widely known as IBK, is determined to become the new head of state of Mali. After two unsuccessful attempts, he is being tipped to win the run-off election planned for 11 August.

Hundreds of supporters have gathered at the campaign office of Ibrahim Boubacar Keita. The favorite in this year's presidential election has kept a low profile during the past week. But now, a few days before the run-off, he appears in public again. His supporters cheer and clap as he articulates his political ambitions. "I call on you to give me an absolute majority. I demand a majority that cannot be questioned," he tells the crowd. For Keita, there is only one thing that counts: He wants to be the next president of the West African country.
