In his hearing, the recently ICTR transfer Bernard Munyagishari stood before Nyarugunga Primary Court in Kigali yesterday, discharged his defense lawyer and decided he would not testify in Kinyarwanda, his native language, on Genocide counts.
Even when the prosecutor tried to show evidence that Munyagishari was born, raised and educated in Rwanda, which is enough proof that the suspect could testify in Kinyarwanda, Munyagishari look at the him like they were not speaking to him - like it was a strangest language ever heard. He remained quiet.
