Gambia: Grade 12 Student Seeks Urgent Overseas Treatment

Banna Marenah, a 19 year bright old Grade 12 student of SOS High School in Bakoteh is currently seeking urgent overseas medical treatment to pursue a renal transplant, the medical report issued by doctors attending to the Girl at Edward Fran cis Small Teaching Hospital indicated. Banna Marenah, who reveals 2 week's history of pedal swelling, othopnoea, breathlessness, anuria, epigastric pain previously had generalized swelling for 5 years that resolved spontaneous. On examination, she was severely pale, with grade 2 pedal oedema, heart rate was 120 beats/min regular, full with rise jugular veins and an S3 gallop and blood pressure of 190/100mmhg, bilateral fine crepitation middle and lower lung fields; abdominal distension with ascitis; and asterisis.

The elder brother of the young girl Sainey Marenah is appealling to all philanthropic organizations, individuals or government, individual Samaritans, as well as Non Governmental Organsiations to help this bright and promising young girl to have access to overseas treatment.
