Namibia: Top Athletes Head to Moscow

Windhoek — Namibia's long-distance runner Beata Naigambo will tomorrow lead a pack of athletes that will represent the country at the 14th IAAF World Athletics Championships, which get underway in Moscow, Russia starting tomorrow until August 18.

Naigambo, a 12th place finisher at last year's London Olympics, will be amongst the top athletes with much international experience and will therefore be expected to give her opponets a decent run for their money in the women's marathon event. Also in the mix of things in the women's marathon will be Helalia Johannes, who is also a major force in the women's event and has what it takes to pull one or two surprises.
