Ethiopia: A Second Gold Medal for Ethiopia in the Moscow World Championships

Mohammed Aman won Ethiopia's second gold medal of the World Championships yesterday (Tuesday, August 13) with a perfectly calculated race in the 800m to win in the last few yards to add another gold medal to the one he won at the 2012 World Indoor Championships in Istanbul.

The race also saw Djibouti's Ayanleh Souleiman take the bronze medal. It is Djibouti's first World Championships medal since Ahmed Salah's took Marathon silver medals in 1987 and 1991.

Ethiopia also won a bronze medal in the 3000m Women's Steeplechase with Sofia Assefa finishing third to Kenya's Milcah Chemos Cheywa and Lidya Chepkurui who took the gold and silver medals respectively.
