Last month, armed gunmen raided a prison on the outskirts of Benghazi, freeing more than 1,000 inmates. The same month, al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for storming the prisons of Abu Ghraib and Taji in Baghdad, ushering in the escape of hundreds of terrorists and causing Interpol to issue an international warning.
