Kenya: Safaricom Staff Earned Sh8.4 Billion Last Year

SAFARICOM spent close to Sh8.4 billion as salaries and benefits to its employees in the year ended March 31, 2013, the annual report to be presented to its shareholders next month shows.

The amount is equivalent to what the government allocated to all irrigation projects in the country in the current budget and is 11.7 per cent higher than the Sh7.51 billion paid out by the largest telecommunication company in the region in 2011.
