With speculation so rife about his health, President Michael Sata has decided to delegate the launch of the Link 400 Kilomtres road project in Lusaka to Transport and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga.
The Link 400 kilometre road project is an initiative of fourth president Rupiah Banda but President Sata, like the link 8000, which were all in the Formula One Road Projects is attempting to use them to gain political mileage.
Ordinarily, President Sata was expected to show up at the launch but his alleged failing health is not helping matters.
President Sata was initially scheduled to commission the blue print project of the MMD that will see most of the township roads paved.
The Head of State has never shied from laying foundation stones, usually using the occasions to state how many mennial jobs the Patriotic Front governement has created.
Laying of foundation projects is one of only two occasions President Sata has been seen in public with the other being at swearing ceremonies.
At the launch of the similar road project, President Sata appeared with short-lived former Livingstone MP Reverend Howard Sikwela who he convinced to create a by-election that the ruling party eventually scooped under a cloud of electoral mal-practice through its now disposed lawmaker Lawrence Evans.
