Madam Esther Silver-Parker, President of the SilverParker Group, yesterday, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Nana Oye Lithur, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.
The SilverParker Group is a consultancy specializing in corporate responsibility and reputation, stakeholder relationship management and leadership development.
Madam Silver-Parker is a frequent speaker on issues pertaining to women's education, empowerment, diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, strategic philanthropy and public relations operations.
She has developed the next generation of women's leadership organization in South Africa and has directly supported programmes to assist women of colour in completing their college education.
At a meeting with Slaha market women after the courtesy call, Madam Silver-Parker expressed delight at the industry of the traders at the market and pledged to support the rehabilitation of the dilapidated market which was built in 1924.
Hon. Lithur gave the assurance that the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection would collaborate with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and Hon. Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, Member of Parliament for Odododiodio to renovate the disused market.
As part of the visit to the market, Madam Silver-Parker and Hon. Lithur called on the custodians of the land on which the market was built, namely Nuumo Kla of the Korle We Wulomo's Palace, Nuumo Nikoi of Nii Lai Palace and Nuumo Ogbarmey lll of the Sakumo Wulomo Palace.
Madam Silver-Parker was accompanied to the Hon. Minister and during the tour by Mr Joseph H. Silver, Sr., President of the Alabama State University.
