THE National Housing and Building Research Agency (NHBRA) has vowed to continue conducting research, to enable the people secure better and affordable houses.
The head of NHBRA Housing and Construction department, Mr Amri Juma said in Dar es Salaam recently that NHBRA has succeeded in building modern homes in various parts of Dar es Salaam Region, Ruangwa District (Lindi region) and Mvomero District in Morogoro region.
The agency has also constructed police residential houses in Singida, Songea and Dar es Salaam regions. Mr Juma added that NHBRA has also designed and manufactured clay-cement bricks and tiles for roofing houses.
He added that the agency has also constructed 72 business apartments at Ipogolo area in Iringa Region. "NHBRA has also provided outreach seminars and practical training almost in all regions," he said.
The agency has also established parenting groups of young entrepreneurs so as to produce construction materials that are studied and have given out range of specialty papers about studies that are already completed.
NHBRA is an agent of state under the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements established by the government agency law No. 30 of 1997 and officially started its activities in September 1997.
