Kenya: 53,000 School Children Get Free Shoes

More than 53,000 school children have given free shoes in a campaign against jiggers in Malindi and Magarini. The shoes were donated by Chomps, a Chinese company. Kenya Red Cross officials said the shoes will help fight the jiggers and keep children in school.

Hassan Musa, the Malindi coordinator of Kenya Red Cross said they are collaborating with the Ministry of education, Rotary Club of Malindi and other NGOs to ensure all children get the shoes.
