Jendayi Frazer, former assistant secretary of state of African affairs, said Meles was a highly determined and committed leader who passed away serving his people all through his life.
Meles was special in leading the complex international relations based on mutual benefits and respect.
"In his relations with US, Meles didn't care to consider the super power America is in the global political order. He was different for his unique vision to Africa. Despite his policy difference, he knew how to sincerely and successfully work with the west. In deed he was true friend of USA. All US presidents who had a chance to work with Meles had great appreciation for him."
She labeled the late Meles's achievement of lifting millions out of poverty is a big triumph like the victory of Adwa.
