Mogadishu — Unidentified gunmen shot dead Amin Ali Mumin, the chairman of Dharkeynley Olympic board on Friday evening, Garowe Online reports.
Mumin was killed in front of his home in Mogadishu's Dharkeynley district by two masked gunmen shortly as he left Dharkeynley stadium, where he attended tournaments held for local teams, according to local reports.
Witnesses added that the assailants escaped from the scene of crime after shooting; Security forces who arrived on the scene minutes after Mumin was killed said investigations are underway as usual.
Looming threats of instability in Mogadishu left several government officials including the deputy commissioners of Mogadishu's Yaqshid and Wardhigley districts Rahmo Dahir Siyad and Mohamed Ahmed Tako dead within two months.
