A three year old child died in a road accident along the Nakuru Eldama Ravine road. Three other family members sustained serious injuries after their saloon car hit a pothole and lost control before it veered off the road.
An eye witnesses said the 6pm accident occurred near Kabarak. "It seems like they were all members of one family," said a witness.
The injured were rushed to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital. Residents of Eldama Ravine area have asked the goverment to repair the dilapidated road.
They said the poor state of the road is to blame for the latest accidents in the area. Residents appealed to the government to expedite rehabilitation of the road to safeguard the lives of road users.
Police from Menengai police station towed the wreckage of the car to their yard before moving the body of the toddler to the Nakuru Municipal mortuary.
