Nyahururu Water and Sewerage Services Board has got a Sh200 million grant from the African Development Bank to improve water water services in Marmanet. The board's managing director Joseph Theuri said the project will start in January next year.
The board members paid a courtesy call on Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu on Thursday. Irungu asked the board to reduce water shortage in the county from the current 47 percent so that residents can get better services.
"This will significantly reduce the cost of water for the locals and contribute to a healthy county," he said. Theuri said the board is in the process of installing new generation water metres to ensure efficiency in billing. "A leak detector has already been acquired to help detect the underground water leakages and reduce wastage," he said.
