Imprisoned FrontPageAfrica Managing Editor, Rodney Sieh, was rushed to the JFK Medical Center in Monrovia at midnight local time as his health deteriorate.
A member of FrontPageAfrica team that accompanied Mr. Sieh to the hospital said he complained of fever and was shivering as a result of cold while languishing in prison.
The Managing Editor of the FrontPageAfrica newspaper has spent five nights in jail following his incarceration by the civil law court of the Temple of Justice on Thursday, August 22, 2013.
FrontPageAfrica offices were closed on Friday, August 23, 2013 by Sheriff from the Sixth Judicial Circuit court in Monrovia and its online edition also ordered closed.
Mr. Sieh has avowed to remain in jail and averred that no amount of pressure from anyone or state apparatus will persuade him to renege his fight for social justice and transparency in Liberia.
Rodney Sieh has maintained that he did not trust the judicial system and before his arrest and the closure of the newspaper noted: "We are in the process of bracing ourselves for the worst."
