Bukoba — THE Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Ambassador Khamis Kagasheki, has called on the youth in Kagera Region to unite and work as a team to speed up their development.
He made the call on Monday when he launched a special programme under which the youth in Bukoba Municipality engaging in transporting passengers using motorcycles (Boda boda) would be loaned a total of 102 motor cycles.
Ambassador Kagasheki, who is also Bukoba Urban legislator on CCM ticket, is the guarantor of the project being supervised by Kishan Enterprises.
The youth in Bukoba Municipality, using motor cycles to earn a living, organized themselves and formed a registered cooperative society.
Under the project, youths who get the motor cycle will be required to re-pay the loan through installment.
Meanwhile, police in Kagera Region is holding four suspects for allegedly colluding to steal a consignment of clean coffee worth 14m/- property of Kasharu Primary Cooperative Society, in Bukoba Rural District.
