LABOUR Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi has sued the Nation Media Group. The media house ran a report that linked Kambi to Sh304 million debt owed by a local oil marketer to the Development Bank of Kenya.
Kambi denied any responsibility for the debt incurred by Riva Oils Company In the suit filed before the High Court yesterday, the minister said the publication was malicious and unwarranted.
Through his lawyer Philip Nyachoti, he said that he gave the group time to retract the story and offer an apology, but which has not been forthcoming. Kambi denied any responsibility for the alleged debt incurred by Riva Oils Company and claimed the liability fell on his co-directors, Ezekiel Kitsao and David Komen.
