Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok leveled blatant accusations against Muslim Brotherhood group and held it accountable for the current situation in Egypt.
He said that the rule of ousted president Mohamed Morsi witnessed the proliferation of radical Islamic groups, although Morsi was democratically-elected, adding that Morsi took a number of undemocratic measures during his rule.
Meantime, the committee condemned in a statement all forms of violence and terrorist operations that targeted policemen in Sinai and attacked heavily Coptic churches across Egypt as well as museums and public facilities.
The committee also condemned what is described as the "disproportionate use of force" by police forces.
Members participating in the meeting of the committee called for playing effective role for easing difficulties to reach a political solution to the crisis in Egypt that will lead to a free and fair elections as well as constitutional reforms.
