Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour held a meeting with the European Union Ambassador James Moran. The meeting discussed means to strengthen economic ties and increase the trade exchange and joint investments between Egypt and the EU countries during the next stage.
Minister Abdel-Nour said that the EU is one of the most important and strategic partners of Egypt on the political and economic levels. He stressed the importance of maximizing joint cooperation between Egypt and the EU countries in order to serve interests on both parties.
The Minister referred to the possibility of achieving more cooperation between Egypt and the European Union, especially in the areas of education, health and vocational training. He urged Moran to show to the European public opinion the real situation on the ground in Egypt.
For his part, Moran said that the Egyptian embassies in the EU countries should show the real and true information about the situation in Egypt.
Moran stressed the European Union's commitment to continue support to the Egyptian economy with the aim of creating a suitable economic climate that restores confidence in investment and supports the economic stability. He stressed the importance of removing all obstacles and challenges in face of the improvement of economic ties between Egypt and the European Union.
Moran stressed the need to double the volume of trade exchange and joint investments between Egypt and the EU countries during the coming stage. He referred to the European Union's keenness on pumping more European investments in the Egyptian market.
