Nigerian Ambassador to Kenya Akin Oyateru has said the two countries are keen on improving their diplomatic relationships.
The High Commissioner was addressing a press conference at the Tribe Hotel.
Oyateru said the recent diplomatic row occasioned by the deportation of controversial businessman Anthony Chinedu has been resolved diplomatically. He said he recently met with the Kenya Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohammed who assured him that Nigerians living in Kenya are safe and will not be harrassed.
Last month, Nigerians in Kenya protested harassment by Kenyan authorities after being labelled "drug peddlers".
"There were information gaps but that has been rectified. We have engaged the relevant authorities and we are still discussing," Oyateru said.
He said the two countries are set to work out a business plan where Kenya will directly export her horticultural products to Nigeria.
"We are also going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on how to cooperate on Agribusiness and how to best tackle the drug menace that almost destroyed the relationship between the two countries," he said.
Oyateru said Kenyan businessmen are free to invest in Nigeria. He said Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan will visit Kenya next week.
