31 August 2013
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy has denied reports fanned by some media outlets that senior Muslim Brotherhood member Khairat el-Shaater got the code for operating wireless devices from a ministry employee.
Shaater has never dealt with the communications sector before, the minister said.
Helmy stressed that his ministry will not cover up any act of corruption and employees who violate the rules will be held accountable.
