Lagos — The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) says it exported natural gas worth $17 billion in the last 12years.
Patrick Olinma, General Manager, NLNG said his company exported the gas through the use of 92 billion cubic metres of associated gas, which translated to 968 liquefied natural gas and 145 natural gas liquids.
He disclosed that NLNG is responsible for about five percent of global liquefied natural gas supply, adding that shale gas revolution, discoveries in Mozambique, economic recession in Europe are some of the challenges of his company in the global liquefied natural gas market.
He identified more challenges to include alternative energy on NLNG primary markets and limited market opportunities for renewal of two Gas Supply Agreements, which he said would expire in 2020 and 2021.
"In this year alone, we have had four forced measures, which have placed the integrity of our deliverability in question; the Japanese have asked questions on our capacity to deliver and of course we assured them of our capacity but the recent issue with NIMASA did not go down well," he added.
