Oum Legta (liberated Territories) — Authorities of the Wilaya of Smara organized Friday a demonstration in Oum Legta region in the liberated territory of Bir Lehlou to denounce the Moroccan wall of shame in Western Sahara.
The event attended by a group of youth and student as well as authorities of the Wilaya.
The participants "strongly deplored" this military wall which constitutes a crime against humanity, calling on the international community to "urgently act" to remove it.
They also asked the UN and Security Council to work in favour of putting an end to the suffering of Saharawi people, by conducting a free, just, impartial and transparent referendum ensuring the rights of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence.
The sit-in comes in the framework of a tour organized by authorities of the Wilaya of Smara to the liberated territories of Western Sahara, marking the end of 2013 youth and students summer programme in the wilaya.
