The owner of City to City buses Mohammed Abdinasir Sheikh was arraigned in a Nairobi court today and charged with allowing four defective motor vehicles on the road.
Sheikh was also charged with failing to keep a record of his drivers details. He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Peter Ndwiga and was denied bond after the prosecution opposed his bail application saying the accused is scheduled to appear in a Narok Court tomorrow where he faces more charges
One of the bus company's vehicles was involved in an accident along the Nairobi - Narok highway on Thursday last week in which 41 people lost their lives and over 30 people were injured.
Four drivers were also charged alongside the owner of the bus company and have each released on a Sh50,000 cash bail.
