Kandara MP Alice Wahome yesterday said the proposed retirement benefits for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka are unrealistic.
She said Kenya cannot afford to pay hefty send-off and retirement benefits for former state officers. Speaking at Gituru dispensary, Wahome said Jubilee MPs will oppose the proposed law that seeks to provide hefty send-off packages for former state officers.
She said the Cord leaders should first resign from active politics to enjoy a send-off package. "I will oppose any move to award Raila and Kalonzo benefits because they are still actively involved in the country's political affairs," Wahome said.
