SOME national government officials have been accused of blocking counties from taking over roads construction.
Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Kiprotich said roads construction should be handled by county governments.
He said some government officials have resisted the move for their personal gain.
"Some of them are very corrupt and they have been benefitting from roads con- tracts," Kiprotich said. He said counties have the capacity to handle devolved functions. Kiprotich was speaking to the press in his Eldoret office.
