Lagos — The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has decried incessant pipeline vandalisations and crude oil theft in the country.
National Secretary of the association, Mike Osatuyi, who expressed this at IPMAN's National Executive Committee (NEC) in Lagos, said the development have severe implications for optimal output from the nation's refineries.
"Despite the challenge of pipeline vandals and oil thieves, Nigeria crude oil production has stabilised to between 2 and 2.4 million barrels per day."
He commended the unprecedented stability and growth in the petroleum sector since the current leadership in the petroleum ministry took on the mantle by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke
The NEC of IPMAN also eulogise the Petroleum Resources Minister for appointing qualitative hands in the parastatals under her ministry, adding that the appointments of the Group Managing Director of NNPC Engr. Andrew Yakubu and Dr. Oluwole Oluleye Executive Secretary of Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF shows the commitments of the Petroleum Minister in using experienced and qualified hands for sensitive jobs in her ministry.
