The minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, last Friday in the south-western Namibe Province said that the inauguration of the 'Welwítschia Mirabilis' multi-purpose pavilion is a clear demonstration of the strength, patriotism and conviction of the Angolan people, who have been striving for development and prosperity.
Delivering a speech that was effusively applauded by the over three thousand people that attended the inauguration ceremony, the minister appealed to the citizens of Namibe to participate actively in the preservation of the new infrastructure.
According to Gonçalves Muandumba, this is a sovereign opportunity to present a challenge to the youth, so that they can make good use of the pavilion, especially by stimulating others to get involved in sports for the growth of Namibe Province.
"Use have to use this pavilion well, (...) because this is a task for everyone, so that you can have a space always at your disposal", emphasised the minister.
The government official also appealed for the citizens to mobilise themselves to support the Angolan national rink hockey team during the world cup that Angola will organise and whose games will be played in the provinces of Namibe and Luanda.
The World Rink Hockey Championship will happen from 20 to28 September this year.
