Gambia: Gamcel/Gamtel Not Accessible in Urr and Crr Regional Manager Explains

Residents in the Upper River and Central River regions of The Gambia have not been having access to both Gamcel/Gamtel telephone and internet for the past 5 days. According to the residents, this lack of access is not only affecting the customers making or receiving phone calls and internet service users, but also banks for people to conduct transactions. The Gamtel/Gamcel Regional Manager in URR, Mr. Dawda Jallow, confirmed the problem and said there is a breakdown in the fibre cables. He said the problem starts from Bureng and Kudang, but added that the engineers are currently working on it. He assured this paper that the problem will be fixed very soon for services to return to normalcy.
