All IDP camps will be closed down by the end of the week. The government and other parters have spent more than Sh10 billion to ressetle the IDPs.
More than 500,000 people were displaced during the 2007-08 poll violence. Last week, the goverment said more than 100,000 IDPs were resettled in new homes.
Bidan Karanja is the vice-chairman of the IDPs at Eldoret's Naka camp. He said the IDPs at the Naka and Yamumbi camps are happy with the move to ressettle them.
On Saturday, President Uhuru handed over Sh400,000 worth cheques to each IDP in the region. "We will use this money to go and buy land where we will start new life,"Karaja said.
He said the government should also help the beneficiaries identify alternative land to settle.
