Ethiopia: Happy Ethiopian New Year

Ethiopia celebrates its New Year's Day for 2006 on Wednesday, September 11. The President of the Federal Democratic Republic, Girma Woldegiorgis, has conveyed his best wishes and hopes to the nation that the year will be a year of peace and prosperity for all Ethiopians.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would also like to wish all Ethiopians and Ethiopian-born foreign citizens a happy and prosperous New Year. The Ministry hopes the new Ethiopian year, 2006, will be a year in which Ethiopians living at home or abroad will redouble their efforts to support their country's development efforts.
