Liberian President Traverses India, Seeking Investors - Government of Liberia and Jindal Power Sign Term Sheet Agreement for Construction of 175mw Power Plant

Day 2 of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's State Visit to India saw her crisscross parts of India, traveling hundreds of miles by plane from Hyderabad to Raipur, then by helicopters to tour the Jindal Power Plant in Tamnar, Chhaitisgarh, then on to Raigarh for a tour of the Jindal Steel Plant, before returning to New Delhi in the evening.

According to a dispatch from New Delhi, President Sirleaf, accompanied some of her Ministers, legislators, business people and guests, was welcomed at Tamnar by Mr. Naveen Jindal, the steel and power magnate, and was showered with bouquets and bouquets of roses and other fragrant flowers. Colorful dancers, their faces painted and clanging cymbals, lined the red-carpeted pathway, while schoolchildren - beautiful girls and handsome boys - dressed in their neat uniforms, waved Liberian and Indian flags and greeted the visitors warmly.
