Various organisations contracted to supply tree seedlings to the Mau have pulled out over non-payment. The move has adversely affected the ongoing restoration process. More than 30 organisations have paralysed the ongoing tree planting exercise in the endangered water tower that has been degraded for years. Members of the affected organisations yesterday engaged officials from Greenbelt Movement in exchange of words over the unpaid dues in Naivasha.
Emotions run high as the owners of the tree nurseries rejected part of the payment forcing members of the provincial administration to intervene. Benjamin Mungania said they had supplied their seedlings through Greenbelt for the restoration of the Mau.
