Simiyu — CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has warned Tanzanians over politicians who want to disrupt the country's peace and tranquility in the guise of the new constitution.
The party has also warned against misleading statements spread by opposition politicians, urging them to instead spend time in doing productive work.
Speaking during a public rally held in Maswa town on Saturday evening, the party's Secretary General, Mr Abdulrahman Kinana, said that the only way of bringing meaningful development was through hard work.
He added that despite the fact that the government led by CCM was dedicated in ensuring that the country acquires a new constitution, the document will not be helpful if people will not work hard.
"Whoever comes and promise you a country of milk and honey from the new constitution, that person is a liar, do not listen to him because development will never come easily without hard work," he said.
He added, "There are some politicians especially opposition who are dangerous because they are ready to use the new constitution process to create chaos and disrupt the country's peace and tranquility".
Mr Kinana said that there was no reason whatsoever to sacrifice people's life because of personal interests and greedy of power. He said that politicians should learn from neighbouring countries where political related chaos has left unforgettable damage in people's lives.
"Politicians in most cases have been the least affected during chaos outbreak and ordinary citizens, women and children have been the most affected while at the end politicians will sit down and strike a political deal," he said.
Mr Kinana noted that CCM wants to see the country moving to greater heights in terms of development especially in social services and reaching rural communities.
"The new constitution will only put strategies for fast tracking development but the people of this country will be a major determinant on how fast we can develop through hard work," he said.
Earlier, the party's Secretary for Ideology and Publicity, Mr Nape Nnauye wondered as to why opposition leaders were ready to see the country shedding blood in the process of a new constitution.
Mr Nnauye related opposition leaders with a step parent who was ready to see a child being killed just because he or she does not know what it took to get the baby.
