Nigeria: Airlift of Sokoto Pilgrims Begins Today

Chairman, Sokoto state Pilgrims and Welfare Agency, Alhaji Mukhtari Maigona has said the airlift of intending pilgrims from the state would commence today. He stated this yesterday, when the members of the state Hajj delegation led by its Chairman, Senator Bello Jibril Gada, inspected the Hajj camp in Sokoto.

According to him, pilgrims from Gada and Sabon Birni local government areas of the state would be the first batch that would be airlifted to Saudi Arabia today. He said that pilgrims from Shagari, Tangaza and Binji local government areas would be on the second batch while those from Yabo, Gwadabawa and Silame councils would be on the third batch. Maigona called on local government officials to make adequate preparation for their pilgrims before the commencement of the airlift.
