Liberia: Govt 'Pay System Rotten' - Finance Minister

Liberia's Finance Minister Amara Konneh has declared the government pay system as rotten, while responding to concerns of what he made of calls here for President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to veto the recently passed 2013/2014 Fiscal Budget on grounds that there was increment for civil servants.

"The pay system in Liberia is rotten... people taking LD, USD salaries plus scratch cards. Everyone wants pay increase...," said Mr. Konneh.
