Kenya: ICC Judge Warns Against Witness Tampering

The presiding judge of Trial Chamber V(a) of the International Criminal Court has expressly warned against any action that would result in the exposure of witness' identities in the ongoing cases against Deputy President William Ruto and former radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang.

Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji said that any such action is an offence under Article 21 of the Rome Statute. "Any revelation of the identity of a witness whose identity has been protected by this court amounts to an offence in this court. So to will any attempt to engage in any such revelation," Eboe-Osuji said.
