A hawker in Eldoret town has lost a 2-year-old baby during a crackdown by Uasin Gishu county askaris on the hawkers. The mother said she lost her son while trying to flee from being arrested by the askaris, leaving behind her baby.
Alice Chebet said despite her pleas to be allowed to pick her son, who was playing in the Nandi park, the officers frog-matched her to the police station where she was locked up.
