Nigeria: INEC Makes Case for Gender Equality in Political System

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, on Tuesday said the framework for implementation of at least 35% affirmative action on women's political advancement and representation is a roadmap for conscious integration of women and increased participation in political activities.

Jega, stated this at the public presentation of the "Frame-work For Implementation Of At Least 35% Affirmative Action On Women Political Advancement And Representation In Democratic Governance In Nigeria" at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
