Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail has chaired the board meeting of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) to discuss and approve its plan for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of pressing ahead with developing petroleum resources to meet domestic demands. Ismail asserted the need for luring more investments in the research and exploration fields for developing oil discoveries. The minister called for developing current refineries to improve their capacities and produce high quality petroleum products. The meeting was attended by the ministers of finance, investment, industry and foreign trade and local development.
